The application of copper sulfate in agriculture
Copper sulfate solution has strong bactericidal action and can be used to kill fungi. After mixing with lime water to produce Bordeaux, it is used to control fungi on lemon, grape, apple and other crops. The proportion of copper sulfate and lime (the best fresh lime) is generally 1:1 or 1:2, and the amount of water is determined by different crops, different diseases and seasonal temperature. It is best to use "two liquid method", that is, first mixing copper sulphate and lime with the required half water, and then pouring into another container and stirring constantly to get the gelatinous liquid of sky blue. The Bordeaux mixture should be ready for use now. For too long, colloidal ions will gradually increase and sink and reduce the efficacy.
Dilute solution is used for sterilization in aquarium and snail removal.
